Originally this was going to be another long day, but when I told Google that I was searching as a car, it found a much shorter route... I won't look that gift horse in the mouth :-)
The forecast said that the wind would be blowing west until noon, so I wanted to get out early and be off the road by lunch time...
The colors of the prairie were so beautiful, alternatively bathed in morning light and shadowed by the hovering rain clouds...

The Missouri! Cool. I'm interested to see if there's a change in terrain, too. Jeez, there was thunder? Neat that the clouds follow you, though -Nof
I’ve learned recently that Missouri River is the longest river in America and is called “Center of Life”. The confluence of Mississippi River and Missouri River is in St Louis. I was more familiar with Mississippi River (because of Mark Twain). Biking on the Great Plains, passing the long rivers time after time, feeling the greatness of the nature must be very important part of spiritual solidarity experience.
