The day started off in a dense fog...
But it soon burned off and gave way to a lovely morning...
I went grocery shopping last night, so I had a nice breakfast in the hotel and then stopped in Sparta, Wisconsin for a great avocado toast at the Franklin Coffee House. When she heard that I was riding across the country, one of the women serving asked if she could pray for my safety. She held my hand and asked God to look after me. It was very lovely and I told her drivers were already being very careful :-)
It turns out Sparta is the Bicycle Capital of America (not just of Wisconsin, as I incorrectly state in one of my videos).
Action shots with commentary...
Snapshot: 46 miles, starting at 7am and ending at 12.15pm, with 4 hours of actual riding:
Did you learn how Sparta came to be known as the biking capital of America?
Finally bitten bagel again :-). “Sparta” is fascinating 🚴
That's really interesting about stationary things looking like they're receding. Did you ever find out the history behind the name Lacrosse? And that sounds like Stand By Me with the train! -Nof
