Back in the saddle after two days of emergency rooms and art galleries. The sunrise looked dramatic from John and Ben's apartment:
Following the Lakefront trail North out of Chicago again showed how vibrant the city is: with so many runners, bikers and swimmers out in the early morning:
The trail stayed by Lake Michigan until Evanston where Mathew and Marin went to Northwestern University:
First and second breakfast... I didn't actually eat the fries, but the hotdog was great :-)
A few action shots:
The snapshot: 38 miles, starting at 7:30am and ending at 12:30pm, with 3.5 hours of actual riding:
That dog looks like it has just the right amount of fixins... How cool that this trip took you through Evanston, too! -Nof
A bit too soon after the emergency room visit. The city, actually the world is much better to watch through your eyes :-).
I just finished catching up with your blog. What an adventure you're having! Keeping with the "Eating Across America" theme: if you happen to be in Milwaukee for breakfast/brunch I recommend stopping at Sweet Diner in the Third Ward. If in town for lunch or dinner, I suggest DanDan, Cafe Benelux, and the Milwaukee Public Market (recently named best in the nation by USA Today). Looking forward to seeing you next week!
